Where can you find the best pizza, New York City or Miami?
Your answer to that question might change in the next two weeks, when Manhattan’s Artichoke Basille’s Pizza takes over the kitchen at Ricky’s South Beach. The East Village pizzeria, famous for its creamy artichoke slice (and proverbial lines, especially at 3am), is opening its 12th location inside the Miami Beach bar/restaurant on July 20th.
It’s not a pop-up; Ricky’s new menu will be helmed by Artichoke founders, Francis Garcia and Sal Basille. That means guests can order slices and whole pies, including the Sicilian—a twice-baked pizza topped with olive oil, plum tomatoes and fresh basil—and the classic Artichoke—cheesy, creamy and topped with artichoke hearts, spinach, cream sauce, mozzarella and pecorino romano cheese.
Wrap-around-the-block lines, the kinds New Yorkers are used to making for a late-night slice, are to be expected—but we promise they’re so, so worth it.
